Asks:
I was on a no-carb high protein diet and I lost some weight
quickly, but as soon as I started eating carbs again I
gained the weight back. how can I lose weight and keep it
off?
- Sarah Bolon -

Chuck's Reply:
Hi Sara
This is a common problem
we deal with daily at Maximum Fitness. The basic problem
with low carb diets is that it is a very drastic, difficult,
and potentially dangerous "diet". A balanced nutritional
program, consisting of protein, carbs, and healthy fats will
allow you to lose weight and keep it off permanently.

Asks:
What are the best exercises for toning, and strengthening my
legs?
- Julia Frederico, Boston, MA. -

Chuck's Reply:
Hi Julia
Wow. Where do I start.
Assuming you don't have any debilitating leg problems, I
would off with a some variation of a dumbell squat, followed
by a walking lunge, and either stiff-legged deadlifts or a
leg curl. These leg exercises are very efficient so 2-3 sets
of each should be sufficient. Obviously keep good form and
stay safe, but don't be afraid to sweat a little.

My 14 year old son is interested in weight training for
sports. Is he to young?
- Gary Crombach, Wilson, N.Y. -

Chuck's Reply:
Hi Gary
We train several young
athletes and have a great time with them. First check with
your Primary Practitioner and inform him of it. Next, hire a
trainer you feel comfortable with, so your son can be taught
proper technique. With proper training your son should have
no problems weight training.
